Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Opportunities At The Shelter:

  • Cleaning:
    • There is no end to the opportunities to clean our catteries.  Jus let us know how you would like to help, and we'll make it happen.  We know it is hard work, but the kitties will love you more for doing it!!!
  • Feeding:
    • Every day at about 3:00 p.m., we provide wet food meals for our cats and kittens. It involves putting wet food on individual plates and distributing it to our residents.
  • Socializing:
    • We understand that not everyone wants to clean and feed.  We value our socializing volunteers because they provide that touch of "home" to our kitties....that special pat, treat, brushing or play time that can sometimes get overlooked in the face of all the cleaning and feeding.

Volunteer Opportunities Outside The Shelter:

  • Fostering:
    • Fostering is a wonderful opportunity to provide the extra TLC that some of our newer residents need as they transition into shelter life.  Foster opportunities exist for orphaned kittens (both bottle-feeding and non-bottle-feeding), kittens with their mom, pregnant cats awaiting delivery, and adult cats.  You will be provided with instructions, litter, food, bedding, and toys...you’ll need to provide a clean, safe environment and lots of love.
  • Offsite Adoptions:
    • We showcase cats and kittens at Petco in Stuart every Saturday from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.  Volunteers staff this in 2-hour shifts each week.  It's a great opportunity to chat with people and share the Domino's message...and hopefully find homes for our showcased kitties! Adoption events are held at various locations in the area. Please let us know if you are interested in helping with this!!
  • Fundraising:
    • We receive no public funding.  All of the money used to care for the cats and kittens as they await adoption comes from private donations and what few grants are available to animal organizations.  We hold a number of fundraising events throughout the year.  Each event requires administrative work, donation solicitations, planning, coordinating, staffing and marketing.  Extra hands are always welcomed, and computer skills are a real plus.
