MOMMA KITTY + 2
Momma Kitty was a stray that came into my yard and I started feeding her. She had 3 kittens and one got ran over by a car. It was then that I took them to the vet and had them spayed and the works as far as shots, etc. Thinking that I would be able to find a rescue group to take them as they would not have the expense of having to spend the money to do that. But so far I have not been able to find them a home or a rescue group. I have gone as far as Sarasota and Orlando to no avail.
As to my circumstances why I have to give them up. We are losing our house and must move. We are moving out of state. We can no longer afford to live in West Palm Beach. I cannot take them with me as we are on social security, have 2 cats and 2 dogs (greyhounds) already, and 2 grand children to care for.
I called several places after I had them spayed and they wanted to kill them as they were considered feral. I suppose that would have been the easiest thing to do but I just couldn't, these cats do not deserve that. All they need is a chance for someone to fall in love with them. I figured I would find a place for them by now. I am attached to them, they have their own personalities and I struggle with it every day. But I just can't keep them. I can't bear thinking about them in the elements and starving. You have a rescue group, you know how it is.
I volunteered with the greyhounds in Orlando. For every dog we had adopted and leave, we had 4 or more come in the door as they were leaving. So I know what you are talking about with no room. It is a never ending cycle, and breaks your heart. I saw it every day. I am such a softy - I guess that is why I began feeding her - but this time I have say no, I don't know how I can take care of them. It's already going to be very difficult to find a place to live with the animals that I do have.
Info about kittens:

Momma Kitty - I call her Miss Spotsy. Estimate her to be approximately 2 years as she was a kitten herself and pregnant. Think someone just set her lose because she was pregnant. She is a Siamese mix with bright blue eyes and orange markings. She talks to us as soon as we go to the patio. She lays down, does this little roll, talks to us and starts purring wanting us to love on her. I sit down to rub her and she gets in the chair next to me stands on my arm, reaches with her foot and meows at me showing me her affection. She does get between us and the kittens meowing for attention when we try to love on them, don't know if that is protection or jealousy. She was given 3 year rabies in Sept 2010.

Striped Kitty - I call her Miss Alie. Estimate her to be about 10 -11 months. She is the largest of the 3 cats. She is curious, loving, and bravest of the 2 kittens. She will run to us when we feed her and rub around our legs. She will sit very close as we clean the litter box and cannot wait on a clean box, then goes right in. She allows us to rub her and listens very intently when we talk to her. She is the first one to investigate when a new toy appears on the patio. Bought a green toy from Internet, a long tube with 3 wooden balls inside with a opening big enough for their feet to play with the balls. She figured a way to get the balls out and plays with them on the floor. She was given 1 year rabies in Sept 2010.

Circle Kitty - I call her Miss BE (Bulls eye). Estimate her to be about 10 - 11 months. She is the smallest of the 3. She is curious, but more timid. She also rubs our legs when we feed them. She gets bullied by the other 2 and is not as trusting. However, she will allow us to rub her occasionally. She listens very intently when you talk to her, and is usually the first to play with a string. She just needs extra time and individual attention without the other 2 scaring her off. We have started feeding them a greater distance apart to ensure she is getting enough to eat as the other 2 bully her away from the food. No fighting, they just push her out of the way, and she gives in. Figured out if there is greater space between the dishes they tend to leave her alone to eat freely. She also waits patiently close behind Alie for the litter box to be cleaned. Both Alie and BE rush in when we are finished, and I have seen both of them go together. It is just funny to see their minds work and watch how they think. She was given 1 year rabies in Sept 2010.
