Virtual Adoption

Sponsor a Special Needs Kitty!

It costs approximately $95 a month for each cat who resides in our shelter. This includes food, litter, medical care, staffing, and operating expenses.
As a no-kill shelter, we provide compassionate care for all who come through our doors. Of course, we hope they will all find “forever” homes, but some are less likely to because they have medical conditions or may be too shy for most potential adopters.
We offer our Sponsor a Special Kitty program for people who want to support our mission but cannot adopt.

Please click on the reservation form to see the various sponsorship levels. If you choose one of the recurring gifts, you will receive regular updates about your sponsored kitty. Our team of Special Kitties thank you for your generosity!

Below is a list of Domino's "Special Needs" kitties

Angel

I’m a sweet, quiet 6-year-old girl….and a little unusual because most marmalade kitties are male. But, I’m also unusual because I have chronic allergies so I get itchy and sometimes lose some of my hair. I’m given various medications to manage my situation, but most potential adopters are reluctant to consider me because of my ongoing needs. I’m very thankful that my pals at Domino’s House take such good care of me.

Charlie

I’m an elderly gentleman of 16 years…..and that’s a lot of years! I manage pretty well and still love to get pats and treats, but my arthritis has limited some of my mobility. I get around….just a little more slowly than I did a few years back.

Cinders

My cloudy eyes kind of scare some people because they don’t understand that I have a congenital ocular condition. My eyes are milky, but I can see shadows. And, I can sure see my food plates when they arrive!!! I can see well enough to recognize my caretakers and am an affectionate and appreciative cat.

Clover

I came to the shelter with a large tumor on my leg. Initially the tumor was removed and even after it was determined to be cancer, I seemed fine. Unfortunately the cancer returned and I had to lose my front leg. You’d never know it was a problem, though, because I get around really well…including jumping into any welcoming lap!

Flossie

Flossie

I’m just a little high strung…..and most adopters want more of a lap kitty than I am able to be. Perhaps with more individual attention in an-only cat home, I could do well, but until then, I “hang” at Domino’s.

Fraidy Cat

Yes, I’m handsome, … yes, I’m affectionate. But, this pesky arthritis has taken its toll on my ability to get around.

Gretel

Yikes….what a story I have to tell! I was found by a kind lady with my 4 kittens. I was in very bad shape after having been hit by a car. But, what’s a girl to do when you have 4 tiny kittens to care for? I kept on moving thru the pain to care for those sweet babies. The kittens all survived, and Domino's worked hard to save my sweet soul....removing one of my rear legs and a portion of a front leg. I manage very well these days although I must admit that my gait is not the typical majestic gait of most cats!

Mr. Chubbs

Boy oh boy….am I old! But, I still love life even after 17 years. I’m always the first to greet the volunteers who bring treats (and you can be sure I know exactly which ones bring the treats!) or any volunteer who wants to brush me. I do have kidney failure now which requires that I get fluids regularly and medication occasionally.

Paddy Cake

Ouch! My mouth hurts!!! I have chronic ulcerations in my mouth. Thankfully, our vets have found a protocol that keeps the ulcers to a minimum, but it requires regular injections. I’ve been through a lot (I was found in a storm drain in Port St. Lucie), but in spite of it all, I’m a sweet girl who loves to be brushed.

Patsy

I’m so darn beautiful….maybe that is why I have such “catitude”…. And I’ve got a double dose of it! Everyone here is very nice, but I really do NOT like other cats so it causes me to behave unpredictably. If I had more personal attention from people away from other cats, I might calm down. But, until then……

Peanuts

Whoa! Something really bad bit me….not sure what it was (maybe a snake), but it almost killed me. I survived but have a little trouble walking normally. I like to think my semi-sideways gait is charming, but I sense newcomers find it a little frightening. But, once they see me head butt my favorite volunteers and purr when they give me treats, people can usually see beyond my disability.

Quincy

Quincy

Well, I’m just as old as dirt! I came to Domino’s when my beloved owner died, but I’ve adjusted well for the several years I’ve been here. I have both arthritis and kidney issues….who wouldn’t at 18 years old? My days are spent lounging in the sun on the patio or snuggled into a comfy bed. I know my chances of adoption are very slim, but I am thankful that I have such a wonderful place to finish my days.

Ray

I came to Domino’s when a concerned citizen found me under a car. I’m blind and have some other mild neurological issues (maybe caused by being hit by a car), but I’ve come to be quite comfortable here at the shelter now that I know my surroundings.

Sophie

I’m soooooooo shy that I get passed over every time by possible adopters. But, if someone would take the time to get to know me, they would see that I am a calm, restful, and stunningly beautiful girl. Several of our volunteers have become my special buddies, so I know I could bond with someone who took me to their home. But, so far, no one has wanted me…..

Whispurr

I’m a sweet, but very sad, lady. My feline roommate of many years died and left me. I would love to move to a human home, but I have tested positive for feline leukemia so most adopters do not want to consider me. I live in the Special Needs house at Domino’s, and life there is good, but it’s just not the same…..
