Like every cat here has a story about how they came to us, so does Carol, one of our human hard working volunteers.  She was taking care of a cat living behind a building and had heard about our program to trap, neuter, spay and release.  She trapped the cat and low and behold it was a nursing mother.  So the kitty had to be released again so it could feed the little ones and give us a chance to collect the babies so they could find forever homes. Which, with the help of a serious rain storm, finally happened. And then Domino's House and Carol had the mother spayed and the kittens all found forever homes including the mother. As the story goes, Carol found her own home here with us and we are delighted to have her.

Carol has been one of our stars since 2005 and our kitties have come to love the attention she gives them on each and every one of her visits and she doesn't play favorites though she does give special attention to those with disabilities or need some additional attention due to emotional problems. For instance one of the pictures here shows her with our new disabled cat that you will be getting to know over the next few months "Kimbo".  It's like she is literally drawn to them and them to her.

Now Carol's skills don't just end with the cats.  I always know when she has been in just by the way the shelter is left in such immaculate shape. Towels and bedding washed and folded, dishes clean, breezeway spic and span.  She always takes pride in the way everything she does for Domino's sparkles.

If you would like to be a volunteer and meet Carol and our other stars we would love to have you.  Age and experience do not matter. We are happy to train those willing to learn and remember we look for all skills from carpentry to computer skills off site as well as working directly with our needy 4 legged guests.
